Join us at the Made in NY Media Center by IFP for the inaugural edition of MAGNIFIED, a new discussion series. This month, we 'll hear from the United Nations Creative Community Outreach Initiative (CCOI).

On the back of the success of Sydney Pollack'sThe Interpreter, starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon established the CCOI as a kind of film, TV and broadcast office within the UN. The CCOI team has worked with TV productions as varied as Law and Order and Ugly Betty, as well as director Steven Soderbergh on Che and French legend Bernard Tavernier with his recent comedy Quai D'Orsay. Documentary filmmakers have also received a great deal of support from the CCOI with everything from gaining access to subject matter experts and archival footage to facilitating on location filming around the world. Recently, CCOI was able to connect documentarians with experts on water access in the Middle East and to facilitate on-location filming in East Timor. Join UN staff on Tuesday, March 4 how and why the CCOI helps the entertainment industry and explore possible collaboration on your projects.Curious about joining our community of storytellers, artists and technologists? Have questions about our memberships and space? Come say hello and have all your membership questions answered (and maybe meet a future collaborator to boot).
