The DUMBO Innovators Meet-Up is a monthly series highlighting innovative companies in DUMBO, Brooklyn. At this lively mixer event, meet your neighbors and experience the vibrancy this community has to offer first-hand.

DUMBO has long been home to individuals and companies with equal parts creativity and business acumen. Each month, we’ll be shining a spotlight on the vanguard, cutting edge companies and people who call DUMBO their home. During a brief moderated discussion, industry leaders in storytelling, media, and tech will share their philosophy around innovation: what it means for their company, and how to approach innovation in business as well as in life.

Access Labs is a software engineering program powered by the educators and innovators of Flatiron School and WeWork. This program was developed to make learning to code more accessible to lower-income students and to equip underserved communities with the in-demand coding skills necessary to thrive in today’s workforce.

About Flatiron School:
Founded in 2012, Flatiron School is an outcomes-focused coding bootcamp providing software engineering and data science courses with career coaching and job placement services to students around the world. Natalie Perpepaj is a full stack web developer with a love for problem solving. After graduating from Fordham University in the Bronx with a degree in Biology & Pre-Med, she worked in the healthcare field at Memorial Sloan Kettering for two years until she discovered her love for programming. She attended Flatiron School in 2017 and is currently a Technical Coaching Fellow there. In April 2018, Natalie joined the team at Access Labs, an initiative launched by WeWork and Flatiron School to bring tech education to low-income students. Access Labs, based out of WeWork Dumbo Heights, offers Flatiron School's flagship 15-week web development program to people looking to change careers with no upfront tuition.


The DUMBO Improvement District is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing and promoting DUMBO, Brooklyn. The Improvement District showcases DUMBO as a world-class destination, advocating on behalf of DUMBO's businesses, property owners and residents. The organization provides supplemental sanitation services, marketing, economic development, neighborhood programming and long-term planning.
