the nod, podcast, pitch

Hot off the presses: our first annual Podcast Pitch Night, taking place Thursday, November 30, will be hosted by brilliant Brittany Luse and Eric Eddings from Gimlet Media’s buzziest new podcast, THE NOD.

Plus, we’ve selected the five podcasts for the evening’s pitch contest in front executives, producers, and writers from Acast, PRX, Gimlet Media, Spreaker, and Hot Pod. Meet them all below!

(Psst! A limited number of tickets are still on sale!)

Brittany Luse (@bmluse) and Eric Eddings (@eeddings) are the hosts, producers, and creators of the podcast, THE NOD, one of the most acclaimed new podcasts of 2017. THE NOD gleefully explores all the beautiful, complicated dimensions of Black life, and has been called, “utterly hilarious,” by The Guardian and, “smart, listenable, interesting, and important,” by the New Yorker. Formerly, Luse and Eddings co-hosted FOR COLORED NERDS, an independent podcast about race, news and pop culture.

Culled from an open call for submissions, these DIY/Indie podcasters will have the opportunity to showcase their work for an industry jury and live audience, and have the chance to win our Jury Prize and our Audience Choice Award.

The five selected superstar podcasts are:
