Nushin Rashidian is an Iranian-American journalist and the co-founder of the digital news site Cannabis Wire. As a recipient of a 2014-15 Magic Grant from the Brown Institute for Media Innovation, a collaboration between the Columbia Journalism School and the Stanford School of Engineering, she created a tablet news game prototype. Rashidian co-authored A New Leaf: The End of Cannabis Prohibition (The New Press, Feb 2014). A New Leaf received great praise, including a review in The New York Review of Books. She appeared as an expert on WNYC’s Brian Lehrer Show, among other radio shows, and on the History Channel documentary Hooked: Illegal Drugs and How They Got That Way. She frequently speaks about the book and cannabis policy at institutes and universities from coast to coast.
